Hello, my name is Ashton Poole, and I use they/them pronouns. I am currently a student at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and I am about to graduate with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design.
This website and all text and images contained within are a part of my degree project, and my intention with it is to create a resource that shows the reader how to think about accessibility in design. As a personal goal, I hoped to educate myself further through research.
While I hope that my thinking throughout this text is correct, I might be wrong. As a way to hold myself accountable, this website is editable by anybody through a public Google Doc.
If you’ve read anything on this website that you feel is wrong or would like to expand on, click on that link and fix it. Thanks to the commenter mode in Google Docs, you can literally delete my own text and type something new, or simply add a comment with your thoughts and experience.
If your thoughts, edits, or additions are included in the site, you’ll be listed as a contributor.
The font used throughout this website is Simplon Norm typeface by Swiss Typefaces. I chose this font because it has a technical flare to it while also being highly legible at text sizes.
This website was built using Jekyll, starting with the Lanyon theme. The license for this theme can be read here.
